Your Opportunity

Logistically plans and coordinates feed delivery utilizing DOT hours for drivers, monitors equipment, and produces product in the most cost-efficient manner. Plans, directs, organizes schedules, and maintains proper operating standards designated by the company by performing the following duties. This position is responsible for coordinating Feed Delivery departments in two locations- Creswell NC and Waverly VA.


Core Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, and administers personnel, equipment, feed shipments, maintenance, work schedules, plans accordingly for vacation schedules, and holiday schedules on a daily/weekly/monthly basis. Utilizes MBFEED or other systems to fullest extent of systems abilities therefore set forth by the company to manage and coordinate feed for farms.

  • Investigates and analyzes new opportunities for enhancement of department's performance.

  • Process payroll using various systems to pay employees correctly

  • Communicates daily with other departments to include feed mill staff on requirements for a job's completion.

  • Works with management on Budgets yearly or as needed. Establishes and monitors productivity standards. Collects and enters data for KPI report on a weekly basis.

  • Maintains customer satisfaction, interdepartmental communications, and morale.

  • Prepares orders for supplies or products as needed and orders through the Warehouse Application.

  • Ensures compliance of federal and state DOT requirements.

  • Attends meetings pertaining to department needs.

  • Reviews and consolidates weekly productivity, feed returns, and project reports. Distributes a daily report to mill staff, production directors and support Ops management regarding loads scheduled for the week, backdated loads, number of drivers hauling, and tons hauled the prior day.

  • Receives incoming calls from farms and drivers. Handles issues accordingly.

  • Assist manager with collecting pertinent information related to investigating accidents, farm conditions, and bin condition problems.

  • Meets with growers and/or production personnel to build working relationship.

  • Dispatches as needed.

  • Provides leadership and guidance for team members.

  • Responsible for being in compliance with all policies and procedures which the company subscribes (to include environmental and safety policies)

  • Follow organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing driver loads.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • High School Diploma or GED and 2+ years' relevant experience in Transportation, Logistics, or Customer Service, required.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Software.

  • 1-2 years of experience in transportation preferred. Must have knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.

  • Valid State driver's license with acceptable driving record. CDL class A license preferred.

  • Ability to read and understand maps.

  • Must have strong organization, communication, team building, and customer service skills.

  • Able to interact with a diverse group of individuals.

  • Work under adverse conditions (dust, extreme heat and cold, etc.)

  • Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule. Holidays and weekends as needed.

  • Frequently exposed to feed mill dust.

Salary Range

$46,500.00 - $69,750.00
