General Summary of Position:

The Corporate Paralegal is an integral part of the Legal & Regulatory Team where practicality, communication and collegiality are necessary components.

The Corporate Paralegal will assist the Legal & Regulatory Team in supporting the needs of a rapidly growing and fast-paced company, while at the same time driving departmental initiatives. Responsibilities include contract development, contract review and contract negotiation. The position requires a highly organized team player with strong written and verbal communication and relationship building skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in negotiations of contract language, terms and conditions, cost/price, deliverables, and schedule requirements
  • Facilitate and provide contractual guidance to internal management including sales and finance
  • Work with internal stakeholders to assure compliance with contractual requirements during contract execution and communicate contractual obligations to account teams managing the installation and maintenance of contracted telecommunications services
  • Coordinate with finance and business teams for resolution of contract issues and disputes
  • Review solicitations and contractual instruments, identify terms and requirements significant to Granite's operations and compliance obligations
  • Assist in identification, development and implementation of new contract/subcontract policies and processes
  • Provide administrative support as necessary, including drafting correspondence, online research, and file organization to the Legal & Regulatory Team

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Minimum 3-7 years professional experience, with some paralegal experience preferable
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, multitask and coordinate activities across a range of functional areas
  • Must be able to thrive in a high pressure, fast-paced work environment with strict deadlines
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to draft contractual instruments
  • Strong analytical and verbal communication skills. Must interface effectively with internal management and customer representatives
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Strong presentation, cross-functional leadership, and team-building skills
  • Commitment to continued professional development
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance
  • US citizenship required
  • Ability to identify problems or inefficiencies and independently offer/implement practical solutions
  • Proficient in all MS Office applications, immediate to advanced Excel knowledge a plus
  • Ability to work with confidential information and exercise judgement and discretion

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in the telecommunications industry
  • Paralegal certificate or paralegal studies, preferably from an ABA certified program
