SUMMARY:

Coordinate and direct the design, planning, construction, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Responsible for the overall maintenance services for the plant and to ensure long-term viability of the facility and equipment
  • Responsible for electrical and mechanical servicing and efficient maintenance of production machinery and equipment, physical plant, and grounds in accordance with state and federal regulations and company policies and procedures.
  • Leads in the development of the annual maintenance and capital plan and assists in the preparation of the plan annual budget.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Additional duties may be assigned as needed.)

  • Develops and controls a preventative maintenance program to maintain production machinery and equipment in proper working condition.
  • Evaluates long-term needs in relation to major projects and property improvements and plans appropriately.
  • Plans, budgets, and schedules facilities modifications including cost estimates, bid sheets, layouts, and contracts for construction and acquisitions.
  • Inspects construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established specifications.
  • Reviews real estate contracts for compliance with government specifications
  • Oversees the coordination of building space allocation, layout, and communication services
  • Provides leadership and direction to the maintenance personnel and workers engaged in moving furniture and equipment
  • Facilitates the effective maintenance and continuous improvement of physical and plant systems including process water, compressed air, utilities, HVAC, and process gases.
  • Establishes standards and policies as required or adhere to established Tenneco Automotive, or nationwide standards for facilities and systems.
  • Maintains records, prints, plant equipment documentation, and maintenance history.
  • Manages facility projects and functions as a primary interface with contractors and service providers.
  • Contributes special skills and experience to plant goals by participating on problem-solving teams

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills. Should be able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.
  • Effective facilitation skills. Should be able to facilitate group discussions.
  • Attention to detail and action oriented.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills

Required Education & Knowledge

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum of five years' related experience in plant maintenance organization (either engineer or supervisor) supporting fabrication and assembly equipment.
  • Working knowledge of control systems, electrical maintenance, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of precision maintenance standards and requirements
