Stanley is looking for an experienced Sr Director of Transportation to lead our global transportation operations in North America, EMEA (Europe Middle East Asia) and APAC (Asia Pacific) regions, encompassing overseas freight shipping, direct-to-consumer/ecommerce last mile as well as B2B/DC transportation. Optimizing the End-To-End Transportation capabilities is a key enabler to deliver on our promise to customers and consumers. As the leader of our global transportation team, you will be responsible to set up the overall transportation strategy for ocean, surface and air transportation for Stanley, define the standard processes, and drive technology roadmap You should have proven abilities to deliver the long-term planning vision and set priorities to further develop advanced optimization and forecasting that solve business problems in the transportation domain.

This role will be a core member within the Supply Chain Operations leadership team and will engage cross functionally with Finance, Accounting, Merchandising, Planning, IT, Fulfillment Operations, and Inventory Management to ensure on-time delivery capabilities. This is a highly visible role, as you will be in constant communications with senior leaders in the company and with external partner leaders.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and execute the overall Global Transportation strategy for Stanley, redefine the transportation mission & vision, set objectives, analyze data and drive improvements that are quantified with metrics
  • Develop framework for continuous optimization of the Stanley transportation network that reduces transit times and costs, by identifying and implementing best practices, and by minimizing process variance through standardization and automation.
  • Identify, engage and negotiate with national and international carriers proactively to create capacity and meet optimized speed and cost goals
  • Provide key inputs into network topology to partner organizations as we grow and scale our delivery promise to customers
  • Pioneer and promote the use of leading-edge technology to improve real time tracking and visibility for customer shipments
  • Lead annual budgeting and quarterly re-forecasting for transportation-related supply chain general and administrative expenses. Model financial acumen and discipline.

Education and Experience

  • BS/BA in Business, Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or relevant field
  • MBA preferred
  • 15 + years of relevant work experience in managing global transportation teams
  • Excellent understanding of e-Commerce last mile delivery, global and regional transportation/ logistics, procurement and vendor management
  • Well versed in retail P&L's and ability to influence key decision makers on transportation channels based on unit economics and capacity
  • Strong strategic thinker, able to anticipate headwinds/ tailwinds in the industry
  • Experience with negotiations with regional, national and international carriers including drop ship capabilities
  • Experience with transportation systems and the ability to create tools and reports to manage your business is a plus

Interaction and Environment

  • The Senior Director of Global Transportation reports to the Vice President, Supply Chain Operations for Stanley and is part of the Supply Chain Leadership team.
  • Daily work hours flex to build collaborative partnerships and timely communications across multiple geographies and time zones.
  • Indirectly leads, motivates, and influences a global team, spanning multiple regions and cultures.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40%.
