Current Need

McKesson Corporate Tax Department is looking for a bright and engaging personal property tax senior accountant. The role encompasses a variety of rewarding responsibilities including Personal Property Tax compliance activities ensuring compliance with all 50 U.S. States taxing jurisdiction rules, regulations, and reporting requirements for assigned business units. Assists with project work, as assigned. Engaging with assigned business unit personnel and accounting to ensure account reconciliations and associated journal entries are recorded, authoring, and maintaining SOPs for assigned business units, as well as other projects as identified.

Position Description

  • Timely and accurately prepares and files property tax returns for assigned business units, including the preparation of check requests / EFTs, and updates the tax calendar, prepares account reconciliations as needed and required, maintains accurate record keeping of the filed tax returns and supporting documentation, and other duties as determined related to the compliance function.
  • Serves as liaison between Tax, Finance, Fixed Assets, and Accountingfor assigned business units.
  • Participates in projects to streamline processes for the reporting of business personal property for assigned business units.
  • Assists with the collection of documentation / data for Personal Property Tax audits.
  • Maintains accurate tax return preparation SOP for assigned business units.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements


Three to five (3 - 5) years experience in a business, legal, or financial environment.

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or an associated discipline or equivalent experience.

Critical Skills

  • Excellent organization skills for handling large volume of work with attention to detail.
  • Excellent decision making, problem solving, and communication skills.
  • Excellent understanding and proficiency of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint and Outlook.
  • Results oriented individual with the ability to work independently.

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Demonstrated competence in compliance activities, including data retrieval, analysis, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Demonstrated competence in meeting required deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work individually and as a member of a team.

Education
4-year degree in accounting or related field or equivalent experience

In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$83,000 - $138,400
