Position Overview

We are looking for a creative Color, Material and Finish Designer to join our design team for a 6-month contract role. You will be responsible for supporting the creation and presentation of CMF concepts and delivery of the final design of CMF for Stanley products in relation to wholesale programs and brand partnerships. Reporting to the CMF Design Director you will work closely with a fast paced and growing CMF, Graphic Design and Production Design team. Partnering with cross-functional partners in Product Development, Product Management, Sales and Industrial Design. You will create designs that inspire consumers to build a more sustainable and less disposable life and world, while supporting Stanley's integrity, performance, and innovation promise.

This is a hybrid role based in our Seattle, WA offices. Relocation not provided.

What You'll Do

  • Strong understanding of how to collaborate with team members and build stories to drive CMF vision and execution on product.
  • Research design trends, cross referencing fashion & beauty, furniture & home accessories, automotive, sport, lifestyle, packaging, music, art, and digital media.
  • Leverage trends to build color design, material innovation and product concepts that support the partnership opportunity.
  • Follow established timelines and collaborate with cross functional partners (internal & external) to ensure on-time delivery of creative concepts and design assets.
  • Positively represents the brand to external partners including key accounts, partners/affiliates, brands etc.
  • Create artwork and partner with render artist to complete visual assets to support go to market materials, presentations and sampling.
  • Provide Product Development team with color callouts for sampling.
  • Partner with Production artist to hand off creative assets for creation of production ready artwork files.
  • Partner with Product Develop and Product Management to review and approve samples.

Education and Experience

  • A degree in CMF Design, Graphic Design, Apparel Design or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional CMF related experience.
  • Hard-goods or soft-goods experience required, must have on product design experience.
  • Experience working on retail, wholesale and/or brand partnerships.
  • Experience with artwork application on product.
  • Graphic and pattern design proficiency.
  • Highly motivated and collaborative - taking ownership of projects and at the same time, being objective and adaptable to feedback.
  • A creative curiosity about finish development, innovations and technical finish execution.
  • Self-motivated, able to take initiative with the ability to work independently when needed.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills both verbally and visually.
  • Comfortable with 'progression' in the context of multiple iterations of testing and learning.
  • Flexible and adaptable due to the evolving needs of a growing brand.
  • Ability to travel if required.
  • Tools: Proficiency in Illustrator, Experience working in Photoshop, InDesign, Microsoft Office Suite.
  • PLM and Keyshot experience is a plus.

Salary Range
