The Director of Project Management plays a vital role in advancing Plymouth Housing's mission by effectively overseeing project execution and critical business deliverables across the organization. Leading a dedicated team, this individual will spearhead the development, implementation, and scaling of Plymouth Housing's Project Management Office (PMO). Collaborating with cross-functional leaders and stakeholders, the Director will drive projects and initiatives of varying size, scope, and complexity, addressing each unique challenge with innovative solutions. Key responsibilities include overseeing all PMO projects, managing deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring progress against milestones. Moreover, the Director will champion an equitable and inclusive organizational culture, contributing to a positive employee experience.

Plymouth Housing is a non-profit organization with apartment buildings throughout King County helping the most vulnerable members of our community leave homelessness behind forever. At Plymouth, we're not simply trying to get people off the streets. We provide supportive services like case management and health care so that our residents can thrive long-term. As part of our strategic vision, we are building internal behavioral health services and transforming our systems to address rapid growth and the changing needs of residents.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO BE DOING IN THIS ROLE AT PLYMOUTH HOUSING

  • Develop overall vision, strategy, and structure for the PMO, with a strong sense of accountability.
  • Support, lead and execute on full life-cycle of the PMO including milestones and outcome reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Draft new and improve existing PMO policies and processes.
  • Identify barriers to project success; negotiate through or mitigate barriers to keep project on track.
  • Operationalize complex initiatives quickly, simply, and clearly.
  • Manage and develop a team of project managers.
  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships with stakeholders across the organization, with an ability to garner alignment.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and facilitate projects.
  • Provide an extremely high level of customer service.
  • Develop after-action reviews for projects.
  • Develop presentations and facilitate meetings related to projects and deliverables.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred), or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in project management practices and organizational culture.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana, Jira) and Microsoft Office Suite.
